Why Drivers Choose PPF
Different vehicles. Different reasons. Same goal — keep the finish worth protecting.

Just Bought the Vehicle
Protect what made you choose it. Whether it’s brand new or simply new to you, protecting it early helps preserve the condition you were excited to buy.

Rock Chips
The first chip always comes sooner than you expect. PPF helps protect the areas that usually take the hit first from rocks, debris and everyday driving.

Daily Driving
The more you drive, the more your paint pays for it. Daily roads, highway miles and seasonal conditions slowly wear down the finish in the areas that see the most abuse.

You Care How It Looks
If you notice every mark, it makes sense to prevent the next ones. For some owners, appearance matters — and protecting the finish is part of keeping the vehicle looking the way it should.

Long-Term Ownership
Protect it now so it still feels cared for later. If you plan to keep the vehicle, protecting vulnerable areas now can help it continue looking better over time.

Thinking Ahead
A better-kept finish always makes a better impression. Whether it’s for pride of ownership today or resale appeal later, protecting the paint helps the vehicle hold its appearance longer.

PPF Knowledge Guide
Questions Before You Protect It?
Here are the things customers usually want to know before choosing PPF.
Can PPF be installed on a used vehicle?
Yes. PPF can be applied to both new and used vehicles. It is best applied when the paint is in good condition, and paint correction can be done first if the finish needs it.
Does PPF stop every rock chip or scratch?
No film can stop everything. PPF is built to absorb the rock chips, road debris and everyday wear that hit high-impact areas, and light surface marks on the film can fade with heat over time. A large or sharp impact can still damage the film or the paint underneath.
How long does PPF last?
How long PPF lasts depends on the quality of the film, the installation and the conditions it faces. High-quality PPF can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years.
Will PPF change the appearance of my paint?
High-quality PPF is virtually invisible when applied correctly. It keeps the original look of the vehicle while protecting it.
Can you protect only certain parts of the vehicle?
Yes. Our standard packages run from P1 (the front of the hood, part of the fenders and the mirrors) up to P5 (the complete vehicle). If you want something different, use the panel guide on this page to tell us which areas you want covered, and we’ll put together a custom quote.
Can PPF be installed over repainted panels?
Usually, if the repaint is fully cured and in good condition. We inspect repainted panels before installation, because how well the film sticks, and how cleanly it comes off later, depends on the quality of the refinish.
Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?
Yes. Many customers in Edmonton combine the two: the film protects against impact damage, and the coating adds gloss, chemical resistance and easier maintenance.
Will there be bubbles after installation?
Small bubbles or haze can appear in the first few days while the film settles, and most clear on their own. That’s why we do a follow-up inspection 5 days after installation, to sort out any minor bubbles, edge concerns or trim issues.
When can I wash the vehicle after PPF installation?
Wait at least 48 hours before washing so the film can finish settling. After that, wash with mild automotive products and avoid aiming a pressure washer at the film’s edges.
What happens if there is an issue with the film later?
Get in touch with us. Eligible XPEL installations receive manufacturer-backed warranty coverage according to XPEL’s product terms. As an XPEL Authorized Installer, we handle the warranty support.
